Cosmetology Program
The 1500-hour Cosmetology training at Summit Salon Academy includes theory and practical instruction that prepares the student to perform all aspects of the cosmetology program. The training includes two types of learning: theoretical knowledge and the practical experience to build the skills needed to be successful in the profession.
Our goal is to prepare students for the licensing examination by the Board of Cosmetology for the State of Illinois only. The school teaches the necessary technical and business skills to gain entry level position in the Cosmetology job market.
The Cosmetology program consists of 1500 hours:
Basic Training: 150 hours
Practical Chemical Application/Hair Treatment: 500 hours
Hair Styling/Hair Dressing: 475 hours
Shop Management, Sanitation, & Interpersonal Relations: 200 hours
Esthetics: 85 hours
Nail Technology: 55 hours
Electives: 35 hours
Total program cost including tuition, kit/books, lab & application fee $19,925
